Who is Dr. David E. Ruggieri?
Dr. David E. Ruggieri MD received his medical degree in 1982, proceeding immediately to expand his career by obtaining specialized degrees with board certification in internal medicine, interventional cardiovascular medicine, and forensic medicine. The son of an iron worker, he had challenged himself with this occupation for two years, until his fascination with plants butterflies and nature transitioning him to the University of Miami where he earned a degree in biology.
Subsequently, it was his grandmother that encouraged him to become a physician. From that day forward he focused 110 percent of his energies to accomplish that goal. In the following 11 years, with steadfast determination he graduated medical school, completed his certification in internal medicine, and ultimately, on a high note, finished his board certification at Columbia University Saint Lukes Roosevelt Hospital in New York City.
From New York he transitioned to Punta Gorda, Florida where for over 35 years he has practiced internal medicine and cardiology. He is trained to solve diagnostics problems , manage severe long term illnesses , emphasizes the importance of exercise, dietary and lifestyle changes and to help his patients with simple and long term chronic conditions.
Today as he reflects on his journey from his early days as a ironworker he is amazed that he has come to enjoy such a marvelous career.
